We are Tourniglo - providing innovative solutions in patient care

Making the world a better and safer place for everyone

Tourniglo has developed the world’s first branded, multi-use phlebotomy tourniquet with a built-in torch. Watch our video to see it in action

The Problem and Tourniglo’s Solution

Dr Efstratios Sofos' “eureka” moment came whilst on a routine ward round as a junior surgeon, when there was a need for a light source to examine a patient and one could not be found. This resulted in delaying the rounds significantly.
Efstratios realised that every clinician in the room was carrying a phlebotomy tourniquet, but nobody had a torch.

We designed the perfect solution - the “tourniglo”, a combined tourniquet with a torch that allows surgeon and other medical staff to blah blah blah.

The Product

Applications of Tourniglo

Emergency Services

Ambulance driving quickly down a road.

Emergency services can use the torch to examine vital signs in the eyes of people injured in accidents. This way, they can take more drastic measures faster, which can be proved life-saving.

First Aid Kits

First Aid Kit being used by a team of paramedics

Ideal as a part of a First Aid kit, as well as a part of a Catastrophic Bleeding kit.

Post Procedure

Man massaging his forearm as part of his post procedure recovery

Light reduces risk of delayed removal of tourniquet. Most patients who had their tourniquet forgotten on their extremities, showed signs of pain, numbness and oedema.

MIRA (medicine in remote areas)

Person being rescued in from a house in a natural disaster.

MIRA (medicine in remote areas) trained personnel can use it to inject intervene medication, when they operate in remote areas and the built-in torch makes the process safer, as it throws some light at the injection site.

Third Sector

Team of disatser relief helpers unloading supplied from an aircraft

It can be ideal for the Third Sector, who are supporting people in mass casualty and emergency situations, possibly without much available light.

Emergency Situations

Man in an emergency situation at home using Tourniglo to examine his arm

It can be used for accentuating veins contour, which can be very helpful during an emergency injection in a remote area.

Our mission is to provide innovative solutions in patient care. We believe that human imagination and creativity can make the world a better and safer place
